One of our current, primary volunteer needs currently is Street Outreach Volunteers. Street Outreach Volunteers help with our direct outreach to working prostitutes while they are soliciting "johns" on the primary prostitution tracks in San Fernando Valley. A Street Outreach Volunteer would accompany the Outreach Coordinator, and not less than one other volunteer, to distribute information about our Drop-In Center and services and safe sex supplies to female prostitutes on the streets where they work. Volunteers in this category wear special Identity Badges and receive specialized environment-appropriate training developed along with the LAPD Vice Unit designed to alert you to safe behavior as a volunteer and team approach to the task. The hours of volunteer opportunity are shift from 1am to 5 am, or 5 am to 9 am on the weekends. Street Outreach Volunteers primarily utilize automobile team transportation and on foot contact. Be aware special safety training is required to participate. Though there are elevated safety concerns, MMP outreach volunteers and staff have never had a safety incident of note. If you feel this opportunity is right for you and you feel strongly enough about the issue to volunteer at these inconvenient hours, please contact Donna Sarullo 818-988-4970 or email donnasarullo@mmp.org.

For other volunteer positions, please take a look at the opportunities below and call our office for more information 818-988-4970.
